Meet Gabe

A Message from Gabe

Marin County has been my home for more than two decades, the place where I have worked, lived and raised my family.

My volunteer, civic and community service had enriched my life and created memories I shall forever treasure…serving as a volunteer at three different hospitals, helping over 250 patients as a medic at the Berkeley Free Clinic, co-chairing the North Bay Princeton Alumnus Interviewing Committee and serving as chaplain and Board President of Unity in Marin.

It was my honor to serve as a council member and Mayor of Larkspur, founding member of the Marin Wildfire Prevention Agency, member of the Flood Zone 9 Board, Larkspur Housing Element Committee, several ad hoc Rent Board Committees, SMART Board and Marin Clean Energy Board Member.

I originally studied to be a research professor at Princeton (BA physics) and UC Berkeley (MA physics).  During my college years, I published in nuclear physics, was supervised by Nobel Prize winning astrophysicist Joseph H. Taylor and taught at UC Berkeley and Mills College.

After moving to Marin from the Bay area, I founded and a custom software business which has employed more 30 people and delivered over 200,000 hours of software services to the US Coast Guard Marin/Bay Area businesses.

In my spare time, I am an avid traveler, guitarist, astronomer and reader. After visiting 49 countries, I feel some of my best adventures have been in right here in Marin, running the Dipsea Race (five times), cycling the Marin Metric Century, hiking, camping and kayaking throughout the County.
